Schuyler chamber honors two

WATKINS GLEN—Jean Argetsinger and Maxine Neal were honored at the 120th annual Schuyler County Chamber of Commerce dinner.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Argetsinger and her late husband Cameron Argetsinger for their service to the community.  Upon receiving the award, Argetsinger said she was happy she and her husband were being recognized.
The award is given to a past or present member of the chamber who is active in the community and has taken business risks.
Past Lifetime Achievement Award winners include Lloyd Cotton, Robert Carpenter, Anthony Pulos, Kenneth Wilson, William Peters, William Simiele, Dominick Franzese, Joanna McLaine, James Chedzoy, Monty and Beverly Stamp, Carol Bower, Tom Wade, Stan and Sharie Beaver, the Brubaker family, Nick Anagnost, Steve Gillette, and Joe and the late Helen Franzese.
The Community Spirit Award was given to Neal.  Chamber president Crystal Ricks said that after speaking with Neal on the phone she knew she wanted to come to Schuyler County.  This award is given to a person or business whose leadership has postively impacted the community.
Past Community Spirit Award winners include Ron Mathews, Moose Lodge #426, The Arc of Schuyler County, Glenda Gephart, Roseanne Paradiso, Rose Ciccone and Charlie Haeffner.
The annual event differed from previous years as it was not a sit-down dinner, but had guests going to different stations for food.  Area wineries provided tastings at the dinner’s new venue, the Harbor Hotel.
