SPORTS RECAP: Week of 12-15-21

Dundee/Bradford
Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team won two games last week to open the season.
The team traveled to Keuka College, Saturday, Dec. 11 to play Bloomfield and won 38-34. Kendall Parker led with 14 points and Kailey Yeoman had 10. Nikki Peterson recorded six points and both Hallie Knapp and Mikayla Schoffner had four. Knapp also led the team with 10 rebounds and Schoffner had seven.
The BraveScots topped Campbell-Savona, 44-14, Monday, Dec. 6. Gabrielle Tobiassen-Aasli and Parker each scored 10 points. Yeoman and Knapp both had eight points. Knapp also posted 11 rebounds, while Yeoman grabbed six steals.

Boys Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team opened the season with two wins last week.
Away at Midlakes on Friday, Dec. 10, the team won 62-59. The team also defeated Bloomfield 66-50, Tuesday, Dec. 7. Individual scoring stats were not reported for either game.

Bowling
The Dundee-Bradford bowling teams faced Waterloo in a match, Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Brock's Bowl in Penn Yan.
The girls won 5-0. Cassie Morrissette led with a 509, while McKenna Miller recorded a 472. Other scores included Jaedyn Brewer with a 467, Abby Miller 449 and Ellie Grant 363.
The boys lost 5-0. Cameron Burke led with a 423 and was followed by Brett Watkins with a 402.

Wrestling
The Dundee-Bradford varsity wrestling team attended the Campbell Holiday Tournament, Saturday, Dec. 11. The group came away with two dual meet wins and three losses. Hayden Erick went 5-0 for the day.

Penn Yan
Boys Basketball
The Penn Yan boys basketball team won two contests last week.
The Mustangs defeated World of Inquiry 61-58, Wednesday, Dec. 8. The boys also beat Haverling, 52-38, Monday, Dec. 6. Brigham Hansen recorded 20 points in the game.

Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team opened the season with a win, Monday, Dec. 6. The girls beat South Seneca 49-10. Jammie Decker led with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Sierra Harrison added 10 points, while Hannah Parsons had eight. Elle Harrison and Kaley Griffin each scored six points.

Wrestling
The Marcus Whitman-Penn Yan wrestling team competed at the Campbell-Savona Duals, Saturday, Dec. 11. The team went 4-1, defeating Campbell-Savona, Dundee, Perry and Thomas Edison.
The squad fell to Midlakes, 42-29, Thursday, Dec. 9. Recording competitive wins were Ty Conover, Jacob Eaves and Tyler Crough.

Hammondsport
Boys Basketball
The Hammondsport boys basketball team lost to Belfast, 51-36, Friday, Dec. 10. The Lakers defeated Arkport-Canaseraga 47-42, Wednesday, Dec. 8

Girls Basketball
The Hammondsport girls basketball team lost to Arkport-Canaseraga, 60-47, Friday, Dec. 10.
The team also defeated Jasper-Troupsburg, 47-44, Monday, Dec. 6. Danica Dresser recorded 18 points and Hannah Hoerter had 17. Rorie Whitcomb added nine.

Wrestling
The Avoca-Hammondsport wrestling team defeated Arkport, 54-18, Tuesday, Dec. 7. Recording competitive wins were: Nathan Young, Tristin Davis, George Drake and Justin Palmer.

Watkins Glen
Boys Basketball
The Watkins Glen boys basketball team beat Newark Valley, 60-24, Friday, Dec. 10. Adam Pastore recorded 25 points in the win.
The boys also defeated Notre Dame, 60-26, Tuesday, Dec. 7. Pastore notched 34 points in the victory and was followed by Jacob Yontz with eight points.

Girls Basketball
The Watkins Glen girls basketball team lost to Notre Dame, 47-25, Tuesday, Dec. 7. Rachel Vickio recorded 12 points.

Bowling
The Watkins Glen bowling teams fell to Waverly 4-0, Thursday, Dec. 9. Mykel Cody paced the boys with a 494 and Maisie Robertson recorded a 528 for the girls.
The bowling team also lost to Union Springs/Port Byron, 4-0, Wednesday, Dec. 8. Cody recorded a 513 for the boys and Alyiah Clink-Bentley had a 369 for the girls.

Boys Swimming
The Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour boys swimming team beat Southern Cayuga 91-67, Thursday, Dec. 9. First-place finishes were recorded by: the 200 medley relay team, Ben Swinnerton (200 free), Liam Smith (200 IM), Alex Walters (100 fly), Ryan Dean (100 free) and the 200 freestyle relay team.
The swimming team fell to Lansing, 100-79, Tuesday, Dec. 7. Smith was first in the 200 free, while Swinnerton won the breaststroke event.

Odessa-Montour
Boys Basketball
The Odessa-Montour boys basketball team lost to Candor, 64-39. Friday, Dec. 10.
The boys also lost to Newfield, Tuesday, Dec. 7. Keith June had 14 points.

Girls Basketball
The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team beat Candor, 42-38, Friday, Dec. 10. Keyonna Garrison led with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Hannah Nolan followed with 12 points, 11 rebounds and five steals. Brittany Cooper added five points.
The girls basketball team also topped Newfield, 38-12, Tuesday, Dec. 7. Garrison had 14 points and Tori Brewster, seven.

Wrestling
The Odessa-Montour/Watkins Glen wrestling team competed at the Ark-Can Holiday Duals, Saturday, Dec. 11.
OMWG was 2-3 on the day, defeating Haverling and Arkport. Jed Lynch (152) went 5-0 on the day. Lucas Hoffman (110), Mark Waterman (138) and Brody Williams (215) were 4-1.
The wrestling team lost to Lansing in a match, Wednesday, Dec. 8. The final score was 39-30. The only competitive victory was by Balan Ault, pinning the Lansing opponent in 2:51. .
