Theatre company will present Christmas show

PENN YAN--The Penn Yan Theatre Company (PYTCo.) will present It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas at the Penn Yan Academy Auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. This is a benefit concert for The Sampson Theatre featuring Kristin Wetherington, along with local performances: Rachel Joyce Dillon, Camryn Webber, and Fiona Marino.
Wetherington is returning to Penn Yan and thrilled to bring her brand new Christmas show to PYTCo. With a professional career in New York City, a Master's degree from Harvard University and all the performances in between, this show is an evening of story and songs sure to remind you of the joys of the Christmas season and why there's no place like home. Featuring a range of holiday music from classics like "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and "O, Holy Night" to contemporary hits like "Let it Go" and "Run, Run Rudolph," this show is a perfect way to start your holiday season.
Broadway World says, "her well-trained voice shines" and she is a "show-stealing performance," while The New York Times and Theatre Mania say she "delivers" and "unleashes a powerful soprano."
Wetherington is a New York City-based performer, originally from Greenville, North Carolina. Her voice has been heard all over the world in some of the largest theaters and arenas. She is a three-time Broadway World Award and SALT Award winner for her performance as Lucille in Parade with the local and critically acclaimed Finger Lakes Theater, The Rev. Some of her favorite theatrical credits include the Broadway tour of Aida, Off-Broadway's Calamity Jane (Calamity), Louisiana Purchase (Beatrice), The Three Sisters (Masha).
As a vocalist, she has shared the stage with stars like pop sensation Tori Kelly and country music star Phil Vassar as well as some of the country's top symphonies including the Philadelphia Pops and National Television like Fox and Friends. Kristin holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Harvard University and when she is not performing runs her own coaching and production company.
It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas is a free concert, where donations to The Sampson Theatre will be appreciated. Be one of the first 50 people to arrive at the concert and receive a signed photo of Kristin. For more information, please visit www.pytco.org.
