VFW to host Freedom Festival

DUNDEE--The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary No. 8649 will host the inaugural Family Freedom Festival, Saturday, July 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The celebration is at the Goodrich Smith VFW post at 125 Seneca St. Ext. The free event will feature food, music, games and vendors.
A children's patriotic bike parade is scheduled for 1 p.m. with prizes for first, second and third place.
The festival celebrates the freedoms afforded to all Americans and will include information about how the auxiliary helps support veterans and the community. Further education about the flag and voting will also be available at the event.
Some of the information booths for the event include: The Yates County Sheriff's Office, Dundee Fire Department, Hope Walk Quilt Raffle, Finger Lakes Community Health, Girl Scouts, Dundee Historical Society and many additional small business vendors.
