Voters approve Odessa school pool project

ODESSA-Residents of the Odessa-Montour school district overwhelmingly approved a proposition that will allow the pool facility to be modernized and upgraded. The vote total was 190 for the project and 17 against.
The proposition stated: Shall the proposition set forth in the legal notice of this special voter meeting, authorizing the expenditure of additional amounts for the capital improvements previously approved by the voters of the School District on May 21, 2019, consisting of reconstruction and equipping of school buildings and facilities, all at an estimated maximum aggregate additional cost of $950,000, for a revised total project cost of $17,850,000; with the additional expenditure of $950,000 from the existing capital reserve fund for such costs, all as more fully described in said notice, be approved?
The project has no impact on taxes, as the money comes from existing capital reserve funds. The scope of the project includes a complete renovation of the 1964 pool shell, new ceiling, new tiles, all new plumbing and a new scoreboard and record board.
