Welliver, Glenora will sponsor Vintage Grand Prix

WATKINS GLEN—Welliver McGuire, Inc. and Glenora Wine Cellars, will be the new sponsors for the Glenora Wine Cellars U.S. Vintage Grand Prix presented by Welliver McGuire, Sept. 10 to 12.
Watkins Glen International announced 2010 will be the first year all major races at WGI have been sponsored and Welliver McGuire will be the first title sponsor of the event since Zippo realigned their sponsorship dollars to the NASCAR race weekend in 2006.
The Glenora Wine Cellars U.S. Vintage Grand Prix presented by Welliver McGuire, is held in conjunction with the Grand Prix Festival in the village of Watkins Glen on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. The 2009 U.S. Vintage Grand Prix expected over 400 car entries and WGI does not expect that to change in 2010. The weekend’s featured Marque in 2010 is Alfa Romeo.
The 2006 Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee, Elliott Forbes-Robinson, will also be the honored guest and Grand Marshal for the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix weekend.
Welliver McGuire, located in Schuyler County, was founded in Ridgebury, Pa. in 1898 and has evolved as the result of the acquisition of McGuire & Bennett, Inc. of Ithaca, N.Y., and Wellco, Inc. of Elmira, NY.
Welliver McGuire Inc. delivers an array of building construction and facility-related services, and constructs buildings for all major industry segments, primarily for colleges and universities, science and technology, healthcare, manufacturing, government and industry.  Headquartered in Montour Falls, Welliver McGuire’s business extends to client locations throughout the eastern United States.
Glenora Wine Cellars is located on the west side of Seneca Lake in nearby Dundee in Yates County. The winery continues to be critically acclaimed for their success in winemaking in the Finger Lakes region and have been a partner of the Grand Prix Festival in downtown Watkins Glen, for a number of years.
Rather than the traditional champagne toast, Glenora will pour their award winning Riesling for the podium finishers during the multiple races happening throughout the weekend. The winery was named “2009 Winery of the Year” by Taster’s Guild International.
