Dundee Area United Fund exceeds goal

DUNDEE--The Dundee Area United Fund has exceeded their $24,000 goal for donations.
Fund chairs Carrie Wood and Joan Washburn said, "We will soon be distributing [over our goal amount] to our participating agencies and groups for this year."
The money raised will go to benefit 13 area organizations. The groups include:
• The Yates Christmas Program
• The Dundee Library
• The Dundee Area Historical Society and Dundee Meals on Wheels
• The Yates County American Red Cross
• The Dundee Children's Center and Dundee Food Pantry
• The Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes
• Our Town RoCKS, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Literacy Volunteers will also receive funds from the program.
The fund committee and board members are all volunteers. Washburn said, "There is no paid staff. Our only expenses are for paper, printing, postage and accounting fees for government-required 501-3c filings.This year's expenses were less than 3 percent of receipts.
Residents that wish to donate for next year's fund can mail their donations to: Dundee Area United Fund, P.O. Box 15, Dundee, NY 14837. Checks should be made payable to the Dundee Area United Fund.
