Montour Falls festival starts Thursday

MONTOUR FALLS--The Montour Falls Fire Department will host the 61st annual festival and Parade of Bands beginning June 8 and continuing to June 10. Live music will be featured each day, and the parade will include both school and professional performers.
Admission is free to the carnival which is held at the fireman's field in Montour.
The schedule on the covered stage will include The Overrated, Thursday, June 8 from 6 to 10 p.m.; Rust Classic Rock Band, Friday, June 9from 8 to 11 p.m. and Saturday will have DJ Tommy Strong from 1 to 4 p.m. and Devon Franks at 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.
Saturday's main event includes the Parade of Bands which will begin at 5 p.m. The parade travels on Main Street and continues on to the festival grounds. Scheduled to appear are the Montour Falls Fire Department Band, Addison High Marching Band, Corning-Painted Post Marching Hawks, Caledonian Highlanders, Jasper-Troupsburg Marching Band, Canaseraga High Marching Band, Fairport Fire Department Band, Dundee Symphonic Steel Drums and the Canisteo-Greenwood High Marching Band.
The Midway is provided by Main Event Amusements and Heavily Brewing Company will be serving craft beer. There is also a Fisherman's Wharf that will be serving clams and shrimp.
