Police detail parade route for the festival

WATKINS GLEN--The annual Italian American Festival will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 31, Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 at Clute Park in Watkins Glen.
Starting at noon Saturday, the Italian American Festival parade will be held along Decatur Street and State Route 414 north. The parade will start at 12th Street, proceed north to Fourth Street (Route 414 north) and then east on Fourth Street to Clute Park. During the parade, there will be no through traffic on Decatur Street or Fourth Street (Route 414 north).
The Watkins Glen Police Department recommends that those traveling to the east side of Seneca Lake, to Route 79 toward the Ithaca area or Route 414 north to the Hector area, should do so prior to the start of the parade or seek an alternate route.
Traffic delays can be expected during the parade and festival. There will be no outside alcoholic beverages allowed into the festival.
