Reed announces Clearview grant

BRANCHPORT--Congressman Tom Reed announced Thursday, Aug. 17 that Clearview Farms in Branchport is the recipient of a Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency grant. The award is for $41,475 to help finance a 77kW solar array.
"Developing infrastructure, encouraging the sustainable production of energy and stimulating our economy are things that we all care about, and these funds will accomplish all three of them," Reed said.
The project funds will be used to purchase the solar installation, which will replace 74,134 kWh per year -- enough electricity to power six homes.
REAP Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency loans and grants are approved by USDA Rural Development to assist farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses in developing renewable energy systems and making energy efficiency improvements.
