BURDETT—Schuyler County resident Doid Kerns, 74, of Valois received  a check for $1 million Tuesday, July 22 for winning second place in a New York Lottery Powerball drawing. Kerns won the drawing after purchasing a ticket at the Dandy Mini Mart in Burdett June 4.

“I’m going to pay off my debts, give my daughter money for my grandkids for college and buy a Chevy,” Kerns said.
