State extends deadline for comments

NEW YORK—The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has extended the public comment period on proposed regulations to set criteria for the construction and operation of new liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities under DEC permits. The proposed regulation would require permits for facilities that store LNG or convert it back to a gas.
All comments will be considered as the DEC proceeds with the rulemaking process.
At the conclusion of the public comment period, DEC staff will review all comments received and may make changes to address comments as deemed appropriate.
Information about the proposed rule is posted on the DEC’s website. The comment period runs through Dec. 4, 2013 at 5 p.m. Please refer to the website for more details at http://www.dec.ny.gov/regulations/93069.html.
