Watkins Glen construction resumes

WATKINS GLEN--The State Department of Transportation has announced work will resume this week on State Route 14 through the village of Watkins Glen. The installation of new sidewalks, Americans with Disabilities Act ramps, islands, drainage structures, curbing, lighting, and signal work will continue as part of the ongoing paving project.
This work is expected to be completed in June of this year. Motorists may encounter flaggers, lane closures and could experience travel delays. It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver license.
