SCHUYLER COUNTY--The United Way of Schuyler County has named Lydia Wickham and Rick Evans to help lead the community toward this year's goal of $123,000.
Evan's volunteer work involves his longtime involvement with the Boy Scouts for 20 years. He is also a winemaker for Castel Grisch Winery. Wickham is currently the director of human resources for Cayuga Addiction Recovery. She also volunteers for Boy Scout Troop 2674 in Watkins Glen and is a member of the Hector-area Lions Club.
United Way of Schuyler Executive Director Peggy Scott said, "We are so very appreciative of the community's continued support and want people to know that their dollars are put to good use." Local donations help friends and neighbors in the county. The 22 participating county agencies help with health care, youth programs, literacy and the senior citizen population.
Many Schuyler County businesses offer a payroll deduction program for United Way donations. Scott reminds residents they can also send a check or money order to United Way of Schuyler County, P.O. Box 270, Watkins Glen, NY 14891.
