Wine and food festival starts Saturday

WATKINS GLEN--The 2015 Seneca Lake Wine and Food weekend will be presented Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31 at Clute Park. This will be the fourth year of the event, which features wine and food vendors offering samples, along with live music and cooking demonstrations.
More than 200 different wines and some 35 vendors from around Schuyler County and Seneca Lake will be available for tasting. Foods available will also include cheese, ice cream, baked goods and restaurant items.
Jeff Dill of J.R. Dill Winery previously said the event has been at Clute Park every year since its inception in 2012. The event draws some 2,000 people for the entire weekend, Dill anticipates. Restaurants and food vendors are able to showcase and highlight dishes that are unique to the Seneca Lake area during the event. While the event is in Schuyler County, organizers say it has also attracted visitors from around the state.
Tickets are $35 for a one-day pass and $45 for a two-day pass. Designated driver tickets are $20. Tickets can include both wine and food, or wine only. Tickets for the event are limited.
Parking at the event site is limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Cost is $8 a vehicle for parking at the site.
Shuttles will run from designated park and ride locations in Watkins Glen including the high school at 301 12th St.
Buses will stop at these parking locations and Clute Park approximately every 15 minutes. Buses may also be flagged to stop along its route. Visitors are encouraged to use the shuttle to ease limited parking at the event site.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
