Whyman resigns county treasurer post

SCHUYLER COUNTY—Schuyler County Treasurer Gary Whyman has issued a letter of resignation from his position as of Monday, July 21. Whyman made the announcement citing personal and family reasons for leaving the position. Whyman’s resignation will become effective Friday, Aug. 1.
“There comes a time for everyone when family events occur that bring about a change of life focus,” Whyman wrote. “I have recently endured such an event… and it has, and is still changing my focus. Because of this change in focus, I am officially tendering my resignation, effective Aug. 1 from the position of Schuyler County treasurer.”
Whyman said Deputy Treasurer Lisa Snyder will temporarily assume the treasurer position once his resignation takes effect. Whyman thanked the people he has worked with in the treasurer’s office in his letter of resignation. He said they have made great strides in making improvements for the future of Schuyler County.
“We have done good things, we have a good team,” Whyman said. “There is a positive attitude in the county and they will be able to continue the progress we have made going forward.”
