Dundee school superintendent takes new job

DUNDEE--The Manchester- Shortsville Central School District announced last week they have selected Christopher Barnard as the next superintendent of schools. Barnard is the current superintendent of Dundee, a job he started in October of 2021.
Previously, Barnard served as the intermediate school principal for the Palmyra-Macedon Central School District, and an administrator and sixth grade classroom teacher for the Victor Central School District. He also was a fourth grade classroom teacher for Gates Chili Central School District and universal prekindergarten (UPK) program lead teacher for Action for a Better Community.
“It is an absolute privilege to be joining the Manchester-Shortsville Central School District as your next superintendent,” stated Barnard in a press release by the district. “I am ecstatic about meeting each one of you. The Manchester-Shortsville community has a strong history and culture, and I look forward to building on the current opportunities and the foundation already in place to achieve high standards for all.”
Board President Barbara Gardner added, “On behalf of the Manchester-Shortsville Board of Education, we would like to sincerely thank all those who supported and participated in this process. It is clear that Barnard’s vision and passion align with our district’s needs and culture. His experience and skills will support the legacy of Mrs. Dehn and continue to grow our vision of challenging all learners while working in partnership with the school community to achieve high standards.”
Barnard will assume the responsibilities of the Manchester-Shortsville Central School District Superintendent position on July 1, 2023.
