ODESSA--The Odessa-Montour Central School Board of Education announced last week that B.C. Cate Principal, Jim Nolan, has been selected as the district’s next superintendent effective Jan. 1, 2025.
Nolan will transition on July 1 to a temporary deputy superintendent position while Dr. Tracy Marchionda continues to serve as the interim superintendent through Dec. 31, 2024. The district said this transition period will enable Nolan to work with Marchionda to ensure a seamless transition of leadership.
Nolan grew up in the Adirondack region of New York. He attended Corning Community College and went on to pursue a career in law enforcement as a state trooper. Nolan then attended Elmira College, State University of New York at Cortland and Brockport University for his education and administration degrees. Prior to his five years as the B.C. Cate Principal, Nolan was an elementary teacher in Odessa-Montour and Elmira Heights.
Nolan, his wife Amber and their three children live in Montour Falls.
