YATES COUNTY--Celebrate Service… Celebrate Yates, the annual day of service organized by Keuka College in partnership with the Yates County Chamber of Commerce and community members, will be held on Sunday, April 26.
Now in its 27th year, CSCY is an opportunity for local individuals and groups to assist non-profit organizations, agencies, and citizens throughout Yates County. Hundreds of volunteers annually take part in community-building efforts by providing yardwork, gardening, light repairs, and similar improvements for the region’s youth camps, churches, cemeteries, libraries, fire departments, and other community organizations.
Registration for volunteers and worksites is now open at www.keuka.edu/cscy.
Volunteers who register by April 6 will receive a complimentary T-shirt and free brunch at the College’s Dahlstrom Student Center from 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. on the day of the event. A brief kickoff ceremony to celebrate the spirit of the day and recognize supporting sponsors will be held at 1 p.m. outside Dahlstrom before volunteers fan out to the work sites. Work will be finished by 4:30 p.m.
Anyone missing the registration deadline may still volunteer on the day of the event and enjoy brunch prior to the community service, but will not receive a T-shirt.
For additional information and to sign up, visit www.keuka.edu/cscy.
