Dundee Fire Department presents awards

DUNDEE--The Dundee Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Squad held the annual dinner and awards banquet Friday, Jan. 27. A number of awards were presented throughout the evening recognizing training, years of service and dedication to the department.
For 2022, the department answered 581 calls, 120 of which were for the fire department and 461 were for emergency medical service calls. The department performed 2,129 work hours, 4,058 training hours and had a total documented time for 2022 of 15,579 hours.
The fire department recognized Marlin Wenger as the fireman of the year. Stanley Weaver had the most training hours with 158. Outstanding service awards were presented to Johnathon Shriver and Doug Miller. The Chiefs Award went to Tracey Miller. Special service awards were given to Harold Zimmerman and Ed Allen. Two community service awards were presented to Robert Druker Jr. and The Observer newspaper. The President's Award went to Ray Miller.
The Dundee Emergency Squad recognized Ernest Martin with the most training hours (204) and was the member of the year with 332.35 hours of service. Leroy Martin was the driver of the year with 87 calls. Josiah Peachey and Diane Warriner both won outstanding service awards.
Special recognitions were also presented to Linus Martin, Carl Zimmerman and Ernest Martin. Ernest Martin and Josiah Peachey were recognized for making over 100 runs last year, while Leroy Martin, Nathan Martin, Alec Miller, Christopher Miller, Tracey Miller and Zach Sullivan won the award for perfect training attendance. Glen Miller was also recognized for 50 years of fire department service.
