Houck accepts district superintendent position

PAINTED POST--The Greater Southern Tier (GST) Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) has appointed Kelly Houck as the new district superintendent of the organization. This fills the vacancy created by the retirement of District Superintendent James Frame. Houck's appointment has been approved by the New York State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Betty A. Rosa, and will soon be finalized by the New York State Education Department. Houck will begin at GST BOCES prior to the start of the new school year.
Houck has been the superintendent of schools in the Dundee Central School District since 2014. She served as superintendent of schools in Canaseraga for two years prior to that.
Before her employment with Canaseraga, Houck worked in the Bradford Central School District for 14 years as a classroom and special education teacher, director of special education, building principal and transportation supervisor.
Houck earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in elementary and special education from Mansfield University. She received a school district administrator certificate from the State University of New York at Brockport.
