Village Christmas celebration is Friday in Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN--It's almost time to don your most festive holiday attire and head to Franklin Street for the traditional Village Christmas celebration. The event is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. Franklin Street will be closed during the event, enabling vendors and the parade to take over the street.
Organizers expect more than 30 participants in the parade, making it one of the longest in the event's history. The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. from Seventh Street and go north on N. Franklin Street. To accommodate the longer parade and still give children time to connect with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Pangea Global Teahouse, fireworks will start at 8 p.m.
"We are thrilled to be able to host this event again, as it brings so much joy and hope to kick off the holiday season," said event organizers. "We look forward to great attendance, happy faces, and continuing the tradition we have had for many years in our village."
There will be some 40 vendors set up in the village and there will also be photo opportunities with the Grinch at Landon's Pub and Pizza with the donation of a canned food item.
