Schuyler seeks proposals for waterfront restaurant

WATKINS GLEN--Schuyler County Industrial Development Agency (SCIDA) in partnership with Schuyler County, is seeking a request for proposal (RFP) from qualified businesses to lease a waterfront full-service restaurant located at 2 Seneca Harbor Dr. on the southern shore of Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen.
The restaurant/bar is a well-known destination on Seneca Lake and has operated as a restaurant/bar for over twelve years. The building is approximately 2500 sq. ft. including a covered porch.
Interested parties must submit all required items and documentation no later than Wednesday, Oct. 18 by 5:30 p.m.
According to the Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development, “In 2012, Project Seneca Initiative was created to redevelop the villages of Watkins Glen, Montour Falls as well as transform the waterfront in Watkins Glen. When the transformation is complete, investment is expected to total $400 million. Occupancy and sales tax revenues continue to set records year after year. GDP for Schuyler County grew 18.4 percent from 2019 through 2021. Schuyler County ranked eighth in the state of New York for business growth in 2018 with an annual rate of 3.0 percent. Watkins Glen’s resident population has remained stable since 2010 (1,852) currently 1,832 residents. The median age of the residents has decreased from 48.1 in 2013 to 42.0 in 2020.”
